It was the Astros first time facing the Boston Red Sox at minute maid park since the 2021 ALCS. The Astros acquired Christian Vasquez(C) as he was taking BP before game 1 started. Luis Garcia was on the mound for the Astros facing Nathen Eovaldi from the Boston Red Sox. Garcia went 7 innings with 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, and 7 SO. Garcia had another strong performance however those three Earned Runs proving to be the deciding factor with the final score of 3-2.
Game 2 had Christian Javier on the mound for the Astros Facing Cutter Crawford of the Boston Red Sox. While the Astros offence showed up with 9 H they were only able to produce 1 run. With the final of 2-1 Javier had a strong performance going 6 innings with 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, and 7 SO
Game 3 had Jose Urquidy on the mound for the Astros facing Rich Hill of the Boston Red Sox. The Astros showed all around dominance. The offence put up 12 hits, including Trey Mancini with his first Home Run in his first at bat as an Astro. Jose Urquidy continued his strong season with an amazing start going 7 innning with only 2 H, 0 ER, 0BB, and 10 SO ! The Astros won 6-1
#1 Astros Vs. Guardians series (2-2) Tie
Game 1. The Astros started off this 4 game series with a strong win 6 – 0. Chas McCormick and Martin Maldonado carried the Astros over the Guardians combining for 6 RBI and 5 out of the Astros 11 hits this game. Lead by a strong pitching performance by Justin Verlander going 6 innings with 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, and 5 SO
Game 2 had the Astros continuing their great baseball beating the Guardians 9 -3. Jose Altuve had a 3 hit game going 3 for 5 with one run and one RBI. That was shadowed by Trey Mancini’s 2 for 5 hit game. Both hits were Home runs including one Grand Slam! Framber valdez had a strong pitching performance until his final inning giving up 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Valdez had 7 H, 3 ER, 3BB, and 3 SO
Game 3 brought the Astros four game winning streak to an end as they lost 4-1 Luis Garcia had a rough outing giving up 1 run in the bottom of the first and 3 more runs in the bottom of the second. Cal Quantrill of the Guardians had a strong outing as well as the bullpen which held the Astros to 1 run coming in the top of the ninth inning.
Game 4 was a quiet loss for the Astros as the fell to the Guardians 1 – 0. Christian Javier had a strong outing going 6 innings with 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, and 4 SO but it wasn’t enough against Triston McKenzie of the Guardians who went 8 innings with 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, and 8 SO
