Last night the Astros played the Oakland Athletics in game 1 of a three game series. This game was a perfect example of why I strongly believe this is one of the best teams in baseball. They have the talent to explode offensively no matter what the score is. Luis Garcia was on the mound for the Astros and after a strong shutout first inning, Garcia gave up two runs in the second inning. However the Astros answered back with a 6 run fifth inning! Yuli Gurriel got things started with an RBI double driving in Jose Altuve. Then the Athletics pitcher Adam Oller loaded up the bases for King Tuck (Kyle Tucker) who hit a Grand slam! Kyle Tucker has been on a hot streak batting 0.450 with 9 hits in his last 20 at bats! 😮 Jeremy Pena capped off the inning with an RBI of his own later in the inning. Oakland tried to answer back in the top of the 7th inning after Luis Garcia gave up 2 more runs and then Will smith gave up another run. Only for Ryan Stanek to load the bases but escaped the jam with no earned runs. The Astros won the game with a final score of 7-5 putting them 1.5 games ahead of the Yankees for the best record in the American League. The Astros are now 73- 41
